Schizophrenia is a disorder that falls under psychotic disorders, which means it involves losing touch with reality. It’s a challenging disorder, which involves hallucinations and delusions. It also involves negative emotions, which include a decrease in emotion in the person’s facial expressions, having an emotionless voice and manner of speaking, and a lack of motivation for any activity the person used to enjoy. What makes schizophrenia a disorder hard to treat is that the person lacks insight, meaning they are unable to recognize that they might have an illness.

Schizophrenia

I am sitting surrounded by enchantresses and witches

I see lightness of Zeus appearing like glitches

There is a chorus of women singing far away

I hand/ signal them to stop because this is God’s way

Angels and demons compose the sounds of Gods that I fear

The voices in my head ringing from ear to ear

An enchantress has told me to go take a nap

She told me to go: she does not want to hear more crab

While schizophrenia is not curable, it is treatable. Effective treatment usually includes a combination of medication, therapy, and self-management techniques. Schizophrenia is a lifelong condition. Some people can recover after one or two episodes, however, schizophrenia symptoms can return at any time.

Insanity

The opinions of women sing a sweet melody

But the voices do not exist; now this is insanity

Schizophrenia is not easy to manage/ this is a fallacy

Sick with a disorder ailed with a melody

Many who suffer wish there were a simple remedy
